URBAN CLOWNS (2024)

What is “taste”? Who gets to be a tastemaker? Those on the fringes of society, people who are stigmatized, dehumanized, and otherwise discriminated against rarely get the authority to define what is cultured. Aesthetics from the margins are often deemed to be trashy, excessive, immoral, or in worst cases, dangerous. Dangerous aesthetics threaten the order of the world, so they are shunned, subjected to violence, and outlawed. In this project, attempted to use clowns as a means to disrupt and satirize the dominant culture.
